The Mission of the Economic Council of Martin County is to ensure Martin County is a sustainable, quality community.
We have a wholistic view of sustainability that includes four key, and inextricably related, environments.
By definition, we live in an Economic Environment that touches each and every one of us in various ways. Economics drives our community through passive income, earned income, local expenditures, and taxes. We earn a living here and we spend our money here.
Our Natural Environment is all around us and contributes to what makes Martin County so very special. The waterways, upland habitats, animals, native vegetation and all the things that were here before people make up our natural environment.
The
Built Environment is comprised of man-made infrastructure like roads, sewer systems, homes, offices, retail shops, utilities, and more.
The Social Environment includes Government, Education, Arts and Culture, Healthcare, Recreation, and other relationships and institutions that impact us as humans.

The purpose of the Economic Council of Martin County is to bring together its members to identify key issues and actively work to achieve solutions to those issues.
Our Council brings together a strategic collection of seasoned and accomplished local executives who are uniquely qualified to help us achieve our Mission.
This broad spectrum of experience empowers us to identify the evolving and complex issues facing our growing community and provide workable solutions for each. We are actively involved in implementing these solutions through policy evaluation, policy development, advocacy, and hands on efforts.

The Vision of the Economic Council of Martin County....
The Economic Council of Martin County envisions a community that recognizes and balances the four interrelated systems of sustainability (Economic, Built, Natural, and Social) required for a sustainable, quality community.
Success will be achieved through the Economic Council’s continued leadership, advocacy, policies and projects.
