Our accomplishments are realized through the ongoing activities and commitments of our strong committees and tireless members and volunteers.
 
Our strong organizational structure provides opportunities for involvement in various committees such as Education, Economic, Life-Science, Leadership, Public Relations, Membership, Junior Achievement, Governmental Affairs and Relations.

ECONOMIC COMMITTEE:  monitors and makes recommendations regarding economic issues to accelerate the diversification of our economy.  In addition, compiles data for the "Making Cents” Economic Indicator publication to provide pertinent local economic data to our members and community leaders.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE:  ensures an educational foundation for tomorrow’s prosperous economy by promoting three key educational initatives: S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) curriculums, Junior Achievement, Career Academies and other educational projects.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE:   provides support for environmental issues to ensure a clean waterway and water resources such as the St. Lucie River Initiative, Environmental Center, CERP, Indian River Lagoon and other environmental programs.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE:  examines the efficiency of all levels of government to respond to the needs of the citizenry in a cost-effective and timely manner, eliminating unfunded mandates and encourage private enterprise.

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS SUBCOMMITTEE:  meets to address The Economic Council’s priorities and issue-specific recommendations through individual small group meetings with elected officials once a month.

LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE:  sets out to recruit, train and support business-minded individuals to serve as active leaders on the various community boards, governmental advisory boards, commissions, and/or run for public office.

LIFE SCIENCE COMMITTEE: sets out to create a business environment to foster the creation of the innovative industries and target clean Industries that offer higher wages for our citizens.  Industries include but not limited to: Life Science, Technology, Research, Alternative Energies, Digital, and Information based.

REGULATORY CLIMATE TASK FORCE:  is focused on enhancing our local business climate and improving our community’s competitiveness for business opportunities, jobs, and increased tax revenues.  Working in collaboration with public sector leaders, this task force identifies impediments in the regulatory process and recommends policies for efficiencies and best practices.

TRANSPORTATION/INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE:   analyzes ways to improve Martin County’s transportation and infrastructure to meet current and future growth challenges.

BROADBAND SUBCOMMITTEE:  pursue opportunities for Broadband and Technology expansion and provide a Needs Determination of existing industries such as Medical, Government, Education, etc.

CUSTOMS SUBCOMMITTEE:  is responsible for the creation of a local fee-based customs through coordination with community leaders from Marine, Aviation and Tourism segments.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE:  define and implement strategies to attract key community business leaders with visionary perspectives, diversify membership, increase member involvement.

FUTURE PAC:  is a "Political Action Committee” encourages a "Get out the Vote Program” and a grassroots call to action program regarding issues facing Martin County.

Other membership activities include quarterly meetings on critical issues and prominent speakers, and our annual flagship Awards dinner.
