On-going Activities of the Economic Councill

	Monthly meeting of the Board of Directors
	Monthly meetings of the Education Committee focused on quality of education in Martin County.
	Monthly meetings of the Local Government Affairs Committee focused on positions to be taken by the Council regarding business items.
	Monthly meetings of the BioScience Committee focused on maximizing Martin County's unique opportunity for job creation resulting from the location of Scripps Research Institute in northern Palm Beach County.
	Scheduled meetings of the Junior Achievement Committee focused on raising funds to provide entrepreneurial courses to Martin County students.
	Breakfast meetings for members and guests with local speaker on issues of local importance.
	Periodic luncheons for members and guests with speakers from outside Martin County to speak on regional, state or federal issues.
	An annual dinner for members and guests with speakers of state or national reputation (Eason Jordan, President of CNN News; Knight Kiplinger, CEO of Kiplinger Letters, Senator Connie Mack and Representative Mark Foley), or more festive events to raise funds for the Council's latest community endeavor.
	Annual golf tournament, which has provided major contributions to local education programs such as Take Stock in Children Scholarships, Education Foundation grants, and Junior Achievement.
